How to Use It

Print the Letter A tracing worksheet and have your child trace the uppercase A and lowercase a on the guided lines. Encourage them to start at the top and follow each line slowly so they can practice correct letter formation.

As your child traces, say the /a/ sound together and name simple words that begin with A, such as apple, ant, alligator, and astronaut. This helps connect handwriting practice with letter recognition and beginning sounds.

For extra practice, have your child trace the letters with a crayon or marker first, then try writing the letter A independently on a separate sheet of paper. You can also have them circle or point to uppercase A and lowercase a to reinforce the difference between the two forms.

This worksheet works well for preschool, pre-K, and kindergarten learners at home, during small-group instruction, or as part of an alphabet learning center.
