LETTER H — HOW TO USE IT

Print the Letter H tracing worksheet and have your child trace the uppercase H and lowercase h on the guided lines. Encourage them to start at the top and follow each stroke carefully, practicing the straight lines and connecting strokes that form the letters.

As your child traces, say the /h/ sound together and name familiar words that begin with H, such as hat, horse, house, and hand. Have your child repeat each word and listen for the gentle /h/ sound at the beginning.

For extra practice, have your child trace the letters with a crayon or marker before trying to write them independently. You can also encourage them to look for the letter H in books or identify household objects whose names begin with the /h/ sound.

This worksheet works well for preschool, pre-K, and kindergarten learners at home, during handwriting practice, in small-group literacy lessons, or at an alphabet learning center.
