LETTER I — HOW TO USE IT
Print the Letter I tracing worksheet and have your child trace the uppercase I and lowercase i on the guided lines. Encourage them to follow the tracing marks slowly, paying attention to the straight strokes and the small dot above lowercase i.
As your child traces, practice the short /i/ sound together using familiar words such as igloo, insect, inch, and itchy. Encourage your child to repeat each word and identify the beginning vowel sound.
For extra practice, have your child trace uppercase I and lowercase i with a pencil or crayon, then practice writing the letters independently. Remind them to place the dot above lowercase i rather than directly on the writing line. You can also have them find and circle the letter I in an alphabet chart or simple reading passage.
This worksheet is ideal for preschool, pre-K, and kindergarten students learning letter formation, vowel sounds, and alphabet recognition.
