LETTER K — HOW TO USE IT
Print the Letter K tracing worksheet and have your child trace the uppercase K and lowercase k on the guided lines. Encourage them to trace slowly and carefully, practicing the straight lines and diagonal strokes needed to form each letter.
As your child traces, practice the /k/ sound together and name familiar words that begin with K, such as kite, kitten, kangaroo, and key. Encourage your child to repeat each word and listen for the beginning sound.
For extra practice, have your child trace uppercase K and lowercase k several times before attempting to write them independently. You can also compare the sounds of K and hard C by naming familiar words such as kite and cat. This helps children understand that different letters can sometimes represent the same sound.
This worksheet is a helpful resource for preschool, pre-K, and kindergarten students practicing letter formation, alphabet recognition, and beginning sounds.
