LETTER L — HOW TO USE IT
Print the Letter L tracing worksheet and have your child trace the uppercase L and lowercase l on the guided lines. Encourage them to begin at the top and follow the straight strokes carefully, paying attention to the different forms of the uppercase and lowercase letters.
As your child traces, say the /l/ sound together and name simple words that begin with L, such as lion, leaf, lemon, and ladder. Encourage your child to repeat the words and listen for the /l/ sound at the beginning.
For extra practice, have your child trace the letters with a finger before using a pencil or marker. Then ask them to write uppercase L and lowercase l independently. You can also have them search for the letter L in books or identify pictures of objects that begin with the /l/ sound.
This worksheet works well for preschool, pre-K, and kindergarten learners practicing handwriting, letter recognition, and early literacy skills.
