Print the Letter Q tracing worksheet and have your child trace the uppercase Q and lowercase q on the guided lines. Encourage them to follow the rounded strokes carefully and notice the additional line that distinguishes Q from O. Help them practice extending lowercase q below the writing line.
As your child traces, practice the /kw/ sound commonly represented by the letters qu. Name familiar words such as queen, quilt, quail, and quarter. Encourage your child to repeat the words and listen for the beginning sound.
