LETTER S — HOW TO USE IT
Print the Letter S tracing worksheet and have your child trace the uppercase S and lowercase s on the guided lines. Encourage them to follow the curved lines slowly, practicing smooth movements as they trace the letter from top to bottom.
As your child traces, practice the /s/ sound together and name familiar words that begin with S, such as snake, sock, seal, and sandwich. Encourage your child to repeat each word and listen for the /s/ sound at the beginning.
For extra practice, have your child trace uppercase S and lowercase s with a finger before using a pencil or marker. Then encourage them to write the letters independently on a blank sheet of paper. You can also ask them to identify the letter S in storybooks or sort pictures according to whether their names begin with the /s/ sound.
This worksheet is ideal for preschool, pre-K, and kindergarten learners developing curved letter formation, handwriting confidence, and early phonics skills.
