LETTER X — HOW TO USE IT

Print the Letter X tracing worksheet and have your child trace the uppercase X and lowercase x on the guided lines. Encourage them to follow the two diagonal strokes carefully, noticing how the lines cross in the middle to form the letter.

As your child traces, practice the /ks/ sound commonly represented by X in words such as fox, box, six, and mix. Explain that the letter X is often found at the end of these words rather than at the beginning. Have your child repeat the words and listen for the ending sound.

For extra practice, have your child trace uppercase X and lowercase x with a crayon or marker before writing the letters independently. You can also ask them to identify the letter X in simple words or circle pictures whose names end with the /ks/ sound.

This worksheet works well for preschool, pre-K, and kindergarten learners practicing handwriting, letter recognition, and early phonics skills.
